Rhys is part of Therapy Dog International, a volunteer-based organization originally founded in New Jersey, but with chapters across the U.S.
Often used by ladies whose dresses were without pockets, sachet bags were used in the regency era to carry many items, including handkerchiefs, coins, smelling salts, and scented powders. These early purses were often called indispensables. In our program, we will decorate sachet bags and fill them with a customized essential oil blend. Beforehand, we will use decorative stamps to make our indispensables regency ready!

Contest submissions are due by Tuesday, September 29. Students unable to submit before the deadline are welcome to attend the spoken poetry event and may participate in a small group activity to create an original poem. During the event, participants will hear from guest poet, Adrian Orlando Watson, and perform their own spoken word poetry centered around Martin Luther King Jr's 6 Principles of Nonviolence. Join us for stories, songs and rhymes combined with simple yoga poses. For children ages 3-6. Please bring a yoga mat or towel. While participating in any physical activity sponsored by The Library, patrons do so at their own risk. Get ready for Halloween by making this easy decoration that uses upcycled jars. Frankenstein's monster can be cute or creepy-- it is up to the painter! All materials will be provided. Dress for mess. Registration is required. For teens in grades 7-12.

Playing with play dough is fun! It is great for fine motor development and hand-eye coordination which are critical early literacy skills. There will be lots of play dough and tools for imaginative play. Roll, knead, and mold to form shapes, letters, and numbers. For children 0-5 and preschool children with caregivers.
