Join Us for the 5k Laps for Literacy Fun Run! The Nampa Library Foundation is excited to present the 5k Laps for Literacy Fun Run. Help us support the Nampa Public Library through the foundation s fundraiser to ensure access, programming, and innovation continue to grow. Bring the whole family out for a morning of fitness and community, with all proceeds directly benefiting the library. There will be the 5k run, of course, along with a bounce house for young children, music, and the library bookmobile all in support of literacy and the growing needs of our community. This fun program is part of the Junior Master Gardener curriculum which aims to engage children through garden and ecology-themed children's books and helps inspire learning through garden activities, creative expression and exploration. This fun, hands-on woodworking class introduces kids to basic tools and techniques, guiding them to safely create simple projects while sparking creativity and confidence. We are excited to have parents/caregivers participate with their child aged 8-12. Parents are highly encouraged to stay and assist to provide guidance and safety support to ensure their child has a positive and enriching experience. Note: Program takes place after hours and participants will be entering and exiting from the Multipurpose Room. Experience Peter Fletcher Before His Carnegie Hall Performance! We're excited to announce that acclaimed American Classical Guitarist Peter Fletcher will be performing at our library! This is a unique opportunity to see him live before his eighth solo recital at Carnegie Hall on April 10th, 2027. Peter's solo recital will feature music ranging from the Renaissance to the 20th Century, including selections from his new CD, Peter Fletcher in Concert. Highlights include the Bach Lute Suite No. 3, Usher Waltz by Nikita Koshkin, and a special arrangement of Simple Gifts. Learn about the Native experience from government boarding schools to the Navajo Code Talkers of World War II, as a young Navajo girl works to sustain her culture in the face of a changing world. After leaving home on the Navajo reservation to pursue an education, Alice becomes a Navy nurse while her cousin enlists in the Marines as a Code Talker during World War II, both striving to find a balance between their Navajo and Western traditions. Q & A session will follow the performance. Living Voices, an educational theatre company, combines dynamic performance and archival film to bring life to history! Living Voices offers a personal look at how individuals and communities survived and thrived finding strength, music, and moments of hope along the way. Developed in partnership with Chinle (AZ) Unified School District and Navajo Nation community advisors.
