Use a custom motor to add movement to LEGO© bricks and learn fundamental simple machine concepts through our designs. The Ageless Grace Brain Health Program is based on consciously choosing to change the brain through physical movements similar to playful childhood activities that fired neurons and developed neural pathways from birth to mid-teens. All 21 Simple Tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease can be practiced by almost anyone of any age or ability. The exercises are designed to be practiced seated, in order to stimulate the five primary functions of the brain (strategic planning, memory and recall, analytical thinking, creativity and imagination and kinesthetic learning) by doing unfamiliar movements, or creating new ways to do an activity that is already familiar. The movements are spontaneous and organic, with no need to learn any special choreography. Each of the brain-changing tools also focus on a primary physical skill necessary for lifelong optimal function (i.e. joint mobility, balance, spinal flexibility, upper body strength, coordination) - and all promote the “Three R’s” of Ageless Grace, the ability to respond, react and recover.

Free Family Law Clinic 3rd Wednesday 5:30- 7:30 Representing yourself in a divorce or custody case? This clinic can help! This clinic will address family law matters including custody, divorce, child support, and parenting time. You will be able to get forms, get help filling them out, and speak with licensed attorneys about your case for no charge. There are two sections to this clinic. One section addresses general questions about divorce/custody/parenting time/child support. The other section is for participants who do not need the "class" environment and have specific legal question pertaining to their issue. Be sure to bring any paperwork you may have regarding your case. Legal Services of Northern Michigan is a nonprofit law firm that is partnering with private attorneys to provide guidance to those who are representing themselves in their divorce or custody cases. Join us and Lisa George for a class on Ageless Grace Neuroplasticity Exercises. The Ageless Grace Brain Health Program is based on consciously choosing to change the brain through physical movements similar to playful childhood activities that fired neurons and developed neural pathways from birth to mid-teens. All 21 Simple Tools for Lifelong Comfort and Ease can be practiced by almost anyone of any age or ability. The exercises are designed to be practiced seated, in order to stimulate the five primary functions of the brain (strategic planning, memory and recall, analytical thinking, creativity and imagination and kinesthetic learning) by doing unfamiliar movements, or creating new ways to do an activity that is already familiar. The movements are spontaneous and organic, with no need to learn any special choreography. Each of the brain-changing tools also focus on a primary physical skill necessary for lifelong optimal function (i.e. joint mobility, balance, spinal flexibility, upper body strength, coordination) - and all promote the “Three R’s” of Ageless Grace, the ability to respond, react and recover.

We’ll practice the important early literacy skills of reading, talking, singing, writing and playing while listening to stories and music. Grown-ups will gain helpful tips they can practice at home to prepare children to be readers and writers. Be ready to join the fun!

We will be using public domain stories and works published by the Twisted Quills. Learn about the history of FanFiction and create your own short story using elements of published works. Registration ensure space and supplies for all interested teens. There will be snacks and beverages to keep your ideas flowing. Join librarians and volunteers for Big Kid Storytime! We encourage kids 4 and up to attend with their caregivers. Movement, music, stories, art, and more! Free and open to the public, every Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Village Community Room in Kingsley Branch Library. Families, elementary, tween Homeschool EDventures are designed for homeschool families to explore our library and other places in our community for educational resources, art, gym, and festive field trips throughout fall. The library EDventures will help parents build up academic support systems while students build up friendships and developmental skills through activities that foster researching, brainstorming, critical thinking, and problem solving. Youth ages 6 - 12 are invited to use their imagination! Join Mr. Andy the 2nd Monday of each month and make something useful out of our recycled materials and tools. Each month has a different theme, though you can also make whatever you would like.
