Kaleidoscope kicks off the 25th anniversary of Tacoma Arts Month! This year's Kaleidoscope brings together dozens of local artists, performers, and community organizations for an afternoon of art, culture, and connection across the library. Explore The 253, a group exhibition featuring 28 Tacoma artists in the Handforth Gallery, running through late December. Catch performance, activities, and more hosted by Write253, Remakery, Tacoma Tree Foundation, Mi Centro, Spaceworks, Asia Pacific Cultural Center, Greentrike, TYSA, Mo Motion, and more! The Chosen program is a youth development program designed by The RISE Center to provide a safe, engaging, and supportive environment for youth to connect, learn, and grow. Each week the group will meet to learn about important life skills that are often not taught in traditional classes like time management, mental health awareness and financial literacy. These sessions give participants a chance to ask questions, discuss these topics with other youth, and develop these skills through hands on activities, all to better prepare our youth as they transition from middle school to high school and beyond. These sessions are drop in welcome and open to youth ages 12-18. Participants will meet in the Olympic room. Food will be provided.

Techniques like shaping the leaves and Petals with color and water then adding a glue and sparkles of fine glitter to make the project look as if everything was kissed by the early morning rain.
