Through the Kids Café Program, the Regional Food Bank provides meals and snacks at after-school sites where children also receive mentoring, tutoring, and a variety of other activities. All meals and snacks are prepared and packaged in Hope’s Kitchen, the Regional Food Bank’s production kitchen. Kids Café is operated as a partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education Child Nutrition and the US Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program At-Risk After-School Program.

The STEAMtastic Surprise is a hands-on, educational kit designed to spark curiosity and a love for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). Registered participants will receive a kit with instructions and supplies for a surprise STEAM-focused activity. Kits change monthly, so there’s always something fresh and exciting to discover. Jessica “Jaylyn” Atsye (Laguna Pueblo) started a worldwide event called "Roc Your Mocs"! Ms. Atsye thought about the powerfulness of people from all over the world, from many different tribal backgrounds and cultures, sharing their pride in their Native heritage by wearing their moccasins on the same day! In 2011, Ms. Atsye and a group of friends started an event on Facebook inviting people to wear their moccasins for the day, November 15. Thirteen years later, Roc Your Mocs day is still going strong recognized by a full week (November 10 to 15) ending with Rock Your Mocs day on November 15, 2025. In 2023, Laurel Goodluck and artist Madelyn Goodnight introduced the Rock Your Mocs Children's book. Join us for an early evening reading of the book! And, if you have some, wear your Mocs!

Feed your belly and your brain at Kids' Cafe STEAM Team! Get a meal from the Regional Food Bank and come explore in an interactive setting that will challenge your creativity and reasoning through Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math.
Children ages 4-18 are invited to enjoy an afterschool snack/meal from 4-5:00 pm at Ralph Ellison Library. Also known as Kids Cafe with the Regional Bank of Oklahoma. Through the Kids Café Program, the Regional Food Bank provides meals and snacks at after-school sites where children also receive mentoring, tutoring, and a variety of other activities. All meals and snacks are prepared and packaged in Hope’s Kitchen, the Regional Food Bank’s production kitchen. Kids Café is operated as a partnership with the Oklahoma State Department of Education Child Nutrition and the US Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program At-Risk After-School Program.
Boost your child's reading skills with Rocket Readers! (Recommended for ages 5-12) This is an in-person event where your child can practice reading and comprehension skills one-on-one with volunteers. Calling all Toddlers, ages 1 to 3, and their caregivers! What will be going on at the library today? Something exciting just for you! We will rotate between playtime, storytime, parachute play, or music play; but no matter what we are doing we will have fun, so come and see! Registration is required. So that we can accommodate as many children as possible, please only register for ONE class per week. Please register each child who will be participating individually. The online waitlist is in effect until 30 minutes before the listed start time of the program. After that time, if you would like to try and walk into the program on the day of, please notify the staff member at the door when you arrive. If there are last-minute cancellations or no shows we will let people in on a first come first serve basis.
