Your Story, Your College Essay Writing Workshop

Lisa Gerardy with On-Track Writing will conduct a free one-hour workshop that will help high school students begin to write an effective college admissions application essay . Students will learn how to interpret common application prompts, select a meaningful topic, develop an authentic personal voice, and avoid common essay mistakes. The workshop will include guided brainstorming, practical examples, and dedicated writing time. Each participant will receive a one-page worksheet to use during the workshop and take home. By the end of the session, students will identify a promising essay topic and will have begun to develop ideas for drafting an opening. Registration is required. For ages 13-17 .
