This activity invites families to decorate a traditional Mexican pi ata using time-honored materials and techniques. The structural bodies will be prepared in advance using papier-m ch . On the day of the of the activity, each family will receive a pi ata base along with a variety of decorative materials. Guided instruction introduces basic decoration techniques, while leaving ample room for personalization and creative variation. *Please register only one time per family. Join us for a special storytime featuring the Jones Center s Joseph Kekuku & the Voice of the Steel Guitar ! Families will enjoy an engaging presentation celebrating the history and music of Joseph Kekuku, known as the father of the Hawaiian steel guitar. The program will include storytelling, music, and a fun craft activity for children. Two sessions will be offered at 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Come enjoy a fun, educational experience that introduces children and families to the unique sounds and history of the steel guitar!

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a fun, hands-on family experience at the library! Join us as the Community Creative Center s Wheel Mobile comes to the library. Children ages 10 and older will have the opportunity to try working with a pottery wheel under the guidance of experienced instructors. The Wheel Mobile will be located outside, and each participant will have approximately 15 minutes at the pottery wheel. Space is limited to 9 participants per session, and registration is required. After registering, you will receive an email with your child s assigned session. While children participate in the Wheel Mobile, families are invited to visit the Springdale Room and create a fun, family-friendly cactus craft. The craft activity is open to everyone and does not require registration. Please note: Registration is only required for the Wheel Mobile. Everyone is welcome to join us in the Springdale Room for the family cactus craft activity!

Join us after hours at the library on Saturday, October 17 from 6 PM to 8 PM for two unique Halloween experiences! All are welcome to tour Treat Street for candy, games, and fun as friendly costumed actors greet guests and guide them through an indoor trick-or-treating experience. No scares here! But a darker evening awaits the unfortunate souls who dare to venture into the library's annual haunt, A Nightmare on Pleasant Street . Step through the curtains into a shadowy world of library-flavored terror, if you dare. Please Consider Treat Street is a sweet, family-friendly experience appropriate for all ages. A Nightmare on Pleasant Street is recommended for ages thirteen and older and may include fog, flashing lights, sudden loud noises and movement, low lighting, and jump scares aplenty. Children under thirteen must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Scare actors may be present in the attraction, but they will not have any physical contact with guests. Guests may not touch scare actors under any circumstance. Admission to the haunt will be on a first-come, first-scared basis. Admission Admission is free and registration is not required, but a donation of $5 to the Library Foun
