In this program, children will hand sew a fun and easy pillow project that's designed for first-time sewers, helping them to learn basic hand stiches while expressing their creativity. After learning about the subject, there will be a related hands-on activity, like building a bridge from popsicle sticks or using the power of the sun to make a s'more! Stop by each month for a new and exciting topic and activity!
This monthly class series will explore important topics related to 3D printing, including demonstrations on how to use the machine, discussion about the purpose and history of 3D printing, and how to find or create 3D models to print. The specific topics covered in each class will vary, depending on the needs and interests of patrons who sign/show up. We want to ensure that the information presented is relevant to you, as there is a lot to cover! If you have specific concerns or a project you are working on, please complete the registration below and indicate this under the question, "What are you most interested in learning about 3D printing?" Participants will learn simple programming concepts, explore how robots follow coded instructions, and complete beginner-friendly challenges using robotics equipment. Teen mentors will guide participants through each activity while encouraging creativity, collaboration, and problem solving.

Curious about earthquakes? Come learn all about it with Dr. Moran from the The Center for Earthquake Research and Information at the University of Memphis! Dr. Moran will have a presentation for children demonstrating and explaining everything they've ever wanted to know about earthquakes. We will also be featuring the popular "I Survived..." book series so your kids can check out a book and learn more about natural disasters.
