Thanksgiving Weekend Walk at Tarr Sanctuary (Saturday)
Sat, Nov 28, 1:00 PM at Pulpit Rock Conservation Area. Admission may apply.
Saturday, November 28 — PLC’s Florence Tarr Wildlife Sanctuary includes a portion of an old forest road that once connected Goffstown, Bedford, and New Boston. Historic maps show no houses on the road, but there are nonetheless signs of past human activity if you know where and how to look. Join the Sanctuary’s longtime volunteer monitor & caretaker Dave Butler for an easy small group walk along the road with a few stops to view curiosities/points of interest. The road provides access to the Tarr Sanctuary’s trail network, which we’ll use for the easy hike to the top of Holbrook Hill, which is the highest point in Bedford. Dave will be leading the walk TWICE, once on Saturday and again on Sunday. Both walks start at 1:00 PM and are limited to eight people. The event is free but registration is required.
