Kids: Create a Sculpture
Tue, Nov 24, 3:00 PM at 145 Washington Ave, Santa Fe, NM, 87501, US. Free.
Kids, ages 6 to 12, explore the bold colors, patterns, words, and materials used by contemporary Indigenous artist Jeffrey Gibson (Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Cherokee). Create a one-of-a-kind hanging sculpture that expresses something important about your identity, feelings, or community. Celebrate Native American Heritage Month with More Colors Than the Eye Can See, an education initiative inspired by the art of Jeffrey Gibson. Facilitated by Kiksuyapi Collective in partnership with SITE Santa Fe, the Portland Art Museum, and the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. --------------------------------------------------------------- For accommodations such as translations, ASL interpreters, or disability needs, please email library@santafenm.gov or call 505-955-2817. --------------------------------------------------------------- Image: BORN OF THE EARTH ON WHICH WE STAND, 2024.
