Ode to the Outdoors: A Collaborative Zine Exploring Douglas County

Fri, Nov 20, 3:00 PM at Lawrence Public Library. Free.

Join us for a workshop that explores our relationship with nature through collage! We’ll use printed images from Douglas County history to create a picture that reflects how being outdoors makes us feel. These pages will then be collected in a DIY book (a zine) available in libraries and other public spaces around the county. This is a drop-in workshop, no need to arrive on time or stay for the whole session ! We'll provide materials, but please feel free to bring your own images of outdoor adventures in Douglas County. All ages welcome! Registration appreciated but not required . This workshop is facilitated by Tess Wilson (she/her). Tess is a librarian, artist, and educator. She enjoys teaching and learning about information democracy, creative education, and environmental advocacy. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering with her local watershed and making art of all kinds. She collects big books and small rocks. “Ode to the Outdoors: A Collaborative Zine Exploring Douglas County” is made possible through SOSAA funds, granted by Outdoors Unscripted.
