Teen Cassette Art Workshop with The Johnson Museum of Art

Sat, Jan 23, 2:00 PM at 101 East Green Street, Ithaca, NY, 14850, US. Free.

This teen workshop is based on The Johnson Museum of Art's Checán Stereoexhibition. Artist Fernando “Huanchaco” Gutierrez uses sound as a way to reconnect archeology objects, taken from their original home in Peru and brought to museums, back to their homeplace. In this workshop teens will be creating playlists, imagining what sounds, songs, words, and languages connect them to their homeplace and identity. After adding our playlist to a cassette case, we will decorate the rest of the case and the cassette itself. Open to patrons ages 12-18.
