Join us for Afternoon Book Club on Saturday, October 17, at 2 PM at the downtown Metro Coffee Company. Students in grades 7 and 8 are invited to gather for great conversation, a great book, and a great drink. Your first drink is on us. This month, we ll be discussing "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman. This scary story is perfect for the Halloween season. Full of twisting turns, creeping monsters, and smartly written characters, Coraline is a treat full of tricks for readers of all ages. This terrifying modern classic follows a young girl who discovers a door to a world where everything is better. In this alternate reality, Coraline meets better versions of the people in her life, and she's offered the chance to stay forever. But there's a catch. She has to give up something very important to stay with them. But the other world is not as good as it initially appears, and Coraline must keep her wits about her and hold onto her courage if she wants to return to her real life again.
