Family Reading Begins

Family Reading runs through February 27th and encourages families to develop the habit of reading aloud together. Studies have shown that children who are read aloud to have improved language skills and are more successful in school. Pick up a Family Reading postcard at the Children’s Desk and initial a stocking cap on the postcard for every day the family reads together for 20 minutes a day. Family = 2 people, with one person being 12 or younger. Once a family has read for 20 days return the postcard to the Children’ Desk for a book, coupons from local businesses as supplies last and an entry into a drawing for one of two special grand prize. Completed postcards must be returned by March 6th. Family Reading is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse.
